This Privacy Policy describes how Magic Seat Scout ("Magic Seat Scout", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use magicseatscout.com and our dining alert service (the "Service").
Information we collect
- Contact details you give us: your email address and, if you choose text alerts, your mobile phone number.
- Alert details: the restaurants, dates, mealtimes, and party sizes you ask us to watch.
- Payment information: handled by our payment processor. We receive confirmation of payment and the last four digits of your card, never the full card number.
- Usage and device data: standard server logs such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps.
How we use it
- To watch for the reservations you asked about and send you alerts by email and, if you opted in, by SMS.
- To process payments, manage your account, and provide support.
- To keep the Service secure and reliable, and to understand how it is used.
- To send you service messages about your account or alerts. We do not send marketing text messages.
SMS text messaging
If you provide your mobile number and check the consent box when creating an alert, Magic Seat Scout will send you SMS messages about dining availability for the alerts you created, plus occasional service messages about those alerts. Message frequency varies with how often reservations open. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. Opting out of SMS does not cancel your alerts; you will still receive them by email.
We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Mobile information collected for SMS consent is used only to deliver the messages you asked for.
How we share information
- Service providers who help us run the Service: SMS delivery, email delivery, payment processing, and hosting. They may use your information only to perform those services for us.
- Legal reasons: when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Magic Seat Scout, our users, or others.
- Business transfers: if Magic Seat Scout is acquired or merged, your information may transfer as part of that transaction.
We do not sell your personal information.
Disney and third-party sites
Alerts link to Disney's own website, where you complete your reservation with your Disney account. Disney's privacy policy governs what happens there. We never see or store your Disney login.
Retention
We keep alert details for the life of the alert plus a short period for support and billing, and account details for as long as you have an account. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
Your choices
- Reply STOP to opt out of SMS.
- Delete alerts or your account from your account page, or by emailing support.
- Ask us what information we hold about you, or to correct or delete it, at the address below.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to process checkout. We do not use advertising cookies.
Children
The Service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the date above.
